Additional rear wing elements

Rear-wing development for the CT-18, focused on aerodynamic balance and manufacturability.

Objective

Increase rear downforce and shift the aerodynamic balance rearward while accounting for the drag and packaging of an additional wing plane.

Design decisions

I modeled the additional upper elements in SolidWorks and reused the profile from an existing rear-wing element. This allows use of an existing composite mold and keeps the work focused on placement, angle, and interaction with the current wing.

Current status

The CAD model and full-car simulation setup are in development using ANSYS Discovery and Fluent. The study targets a vehicle speed of 35 mph. Performance improvements have not yet been confirmed by completed validation.
